Location, Location, Location!
The San Diego High School campus is located at the southern edge of Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre historic urban cultural park with open spaces, natural
vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, museums, several theaters, and the San Diego Zoo. Classes can walk through the park to attend theater performances or visit special exhibitions at the museums.
The Natural History Museum is just a short walk from our campus
We are also adjacent to San Diego City College, one of the fastest growing community colleges in the nation. College professors walk to our campus to offer a wide range of college-level courses to SDHS students at our site, allowing them to gain college credits for free before they graduate high school.
San Diego City College
The proximity of the downtown San Diego business area makes it easy for students in career-focused programs such as our Green Engineering – GeoTech Academy, Biomedical Science – MedTech Academy and Culinary Arts & Management Program to access internship opportunities.

There is ample student parking in the Inspiration Point parking lot (with direct access to our campus over the pedestrian bridge), and this also provides a easy location for student drop-off with access to I-5 and I-163. However, many of our students use public transport to get to school. We are on three major San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus routes, with buses arriving every few minutes. The City College trolley stop is 7 minutes walk away.
