Scholarship Criteria:

Most scholarships have specific criteria, select the awards that might fit you best:

  • Academy-specific scholarships (Finance, MedTech)
  • Athletics
  • Career: Teaching, business, healthcare, technology
  • Subjects: STEM, music, drama, art, history, English

Describe how you fit these criteria in your personal statement. Some scholarships also require an essay.

Please note that many of our donors are trying to reach students from diverse backgrounds and  achievements! Many scholarships do not require a four-year college. Some do not have a minimum  GPA requirement. We encourage community college and trade school applicants to apply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are renewable scholarships?

A: While most scholarships give out a one-time award, a renewable scholarship will award you every year (up to four years of college). You must be in academic good standing and regularly update the Scholarship Committee with your progress.

Q: How do I write for the Additional Prompts

A: Add a section of the bottom with the name of the scholarship, for example, “For the Ly Family  Scholarship”. You can add multiple sections if needed.

Q: What if my teacher's letter of recommendation is late?

A: Submit your other documents on time! You can upload the letter later, or email it us at
[email protected] (make sure you include your name and student ID so we know who it belongs to.)

Q: What if I get a full ride to community college?

A: If you are planning to transfer to a four year college afterwards, we will send your award to your first  college and they will forward it after your transfer. Or, if you have immediate education-related  needs (such as a computer, training expenses, or lab supplies) we can pay for those instead.

Q: What if I plan to work or defer after graduation?

A: We try to be as flexible as possible, as our donors allow! We can defer your award for a limited time.  Or if you have educational-related needs (see above) we can pay for those as well. Contact us about your situation as soon as possible.

Q: What if I have questions about my application?

A: Contact your AVID teacher, counselor, or email [email protected]
