SDHS provides a comprehensive visual art and design program from introductory classes that focus on production, composition, criticism, and art history through the exploration of visual art elements and principles to capstone AP courses for advanced students to create and earn college credits. Our school campus is enlivened by murals created by our students and includes a dedicated arts building with studio and classroom space.
Other visual arts courses include photography and digital art and design, teaching composition and the application of visual arts principles through different hands-on processes. Electives in Digital Art and Mixed Media also contribute to our Design, Visual, and Media Arts career pathway, providing students with the tools and experience they will need to succeed in the arts, media, and entertainment industry sector.
