Enrollment

Welcome!  We are so pleased that you have chosen San Diego High School! Here's what you need to do to enroll your student. The process is a little different depending on:

• Where you live: Are you in our attendance area?
• What school your student is currently attending: Are they already in the San Diego Unified School District or are you moving here? (welcome!)

If you have any questions please contact our wonderful front office and enrollment staff by phone or email. Or meet us at one of our enrollment fairs. Or come to the school during our office hours (8am-4 pm). We would be happy to help you fill out the forms and answer any questions in-person.

You should also arrange to meet with one of our school counselors, either at an enrollment fair or by appointment at the school so that your student can choose their classes (do this as soon as possible).

How to Enroll:

If you have an 8th grader at Roosevelt International Baccalaureate Middle School, Golden Hill K-8 or Grant TK-8 and live in our attendance area you may not need to fill out an enrollment form! We are your "neighborhood school" and information about your student can be automatically sent over from your middle school (please do check with our enrollment staff to make sure this has happened correctly).

If you live in our attendance area (we are your "neighborhood school") but your student has not attended a SDUSD school before - for example, you  just moved to San Diego, or your student was previously at a private school. Fill out the forms on this page.

If you live in attendance area (we are your "neighborhood school"), but your student has been attending a different SDUSD school (perhaps one of the charter schools, or you are family from Mission Hills that are transferring from Point Loma High?) you need to contact us so we can help with the transfer.

If you live outside our attendance area (if we are not your "neighborhood school") we are still delighted to welcome you to San Diego High School, there are so many reasons to choose our school! But you do need to fill out this "Choice Enrollment" form. The last day to complete Choice Enrollment for school year 2024-2025 is August 9, 2024.

Note: Students from Logan Memorial Educational Campus must also fill out the Choice Enrollment form to attend SDHS in 9th and 10th.
