The Academy of Finance and Entrepreneurship (AoFE) at San Diego High School strives to prepare students to be successful and competitive in the global world through developing their entrepreneurial mindset. 

Students in the Academy of Finance and Entrepreneurship have the opportunity to complete business course pathways that build transferable professional skills through project-based learning aligned with industry standards and core content.  

The business pathways are part of the state-wide College Career Technical Education (CCTE) program, which is designed to ensure students are college and career ready when they graduate high school.

Pathway

Business 100

● Introductory business course designed to expose students to basic business concepts.

Empowering Entrepreneurs (Honors)

● This honors course is designed to empower entrepreneurial literacy among high school students through a project-based learning approach.

● This course is a UC (University of California) and CCTE (College, Career, and Technical Education) approved course.

Social Entrepreneurs (Honors)

● This honors course engages students in the process of exploring significant global problems & developing innovative solutions that drive transformative social change

● The course helps students understand some of the strategies that social entrepreneurs employ to create high-impact ventures.

Virtual Entrepreneurs

● This course is a simulated business in which the students will become employees in a company they start and run throughout the year.

Internships

Students in the Academy of Finance and Entrepreneurship (AoFE) participate in an internship program in their Senior year. They work at local businesses and non-profits. Recent internships have included:

San Diego Automotive Museum

San Diego Air & Space Museum

●  Japanese Friendship Garden and Museum (JFGM) 

Local Businesses 

● Real Estate companies

● Restaurants

● Towing company

TCG

● Non-profit organizations
